#NewMusicFriday || 7.14.2017
It seems like artists are catching on to the fact that music fans are inundated with new music once Friday rolls around and have been debuting new tracks earlier in the week.
We've compiled our #NewMusicFriday top picks, including those that got a bit of a head start.
Demi Lovato was the early (song)bird who dropped her new track, "Sorry Not Sorry" on Monday and it quickly raced to the top of the iTunes charts and Twitter.
Demi really thrives in both the anthemic, edgy song realm (ex: "Confident," "Cool For The Summer"), lighthearted pop love songs ("Give Your Heart A Break," "Made In The USA," "Heart Attack") and in the hard-hitting ballad space ("Skyscraper," "Stone Cold").
"Sorry Not Sorry" falls in the anthemic category, and comes as a message to all of her haters that Demi is not here to play around. Okay, so maybe it sounds a little like a Kehlani track, but... we are still loving it.
Selena Gomez also premiered a new song, "Fetish," which she's been teasing fans with since her "Bad Liar" music video. The song debut came with a Gucci Mane feature because, come on, all the cool kids are doing it. Her breathy vocals, paired with the sultry, confident lyrics make this one of Selena's sexiest songs yet.
Kesha, fresh off of the success of "Praying," debuted her girl power anthem, "Woman," on Thursday and it is giving us all of the "I Am Woman" Helen Reddy-vibes. The chorus is infectious, unapologetic and everything we love.
As our former roomie put perfectly:
Foster The People is finally back with "Sit Next To Me," which'll be on their album due out July 21st. If you're a fan, you'll be happy to hear that they didn't deviate from their signature sound. We know we've definitely missed Mark Foster's voice. While "Sacred Hearts Club" will be their third album, their debut album, "Torches," will forever be a favorite.
