SOON TO SHINE || YEBBA
If you love Sam Smith and Adele, you will quickly fall in love with YEBBA.
Quick Facts: Her stage name, YEBBA, is Abbey, spelled backwards, and a nickname her mother gave her. Her real name is Abbey Smith. She adopted this stage name after her mom's passing.
A week after she sang her original song, "My Mind," her mom committed suicide. YEBBA has since offered the song for free, with an option for fans to donate to the mental health awareness organization Bring Change To Mind .
Recent Hype: If her name looks familiar and her voice rings a few bells, too, then it could be because of Sam Smith's The Thrill Of It All album -- she's the other beautiful voice on "No Peace."
She also sang backup for Chance The Rapper during his SNL performance of "Same Drugs." Afterwards, he tweeted that she "stole the show."
Oh, and did we mention she can body an SWV hit?! Check out her cover of "Weak" HERE. Not to mention, her cover of Britney's "Lucky" is equally incredible.
This past winter, she dropped her song, "Evergreen" (above) and we cannot get enough of it and her soulful vocals. We dare you to give it one listen and not immediately become a fan.
